Barrie Legion Branch 147 & Rotary Club of Barrie

Who We Are

The Barrie Legion received its Charter in April 1929. We are now approaching 95 years of being a veteran club in this City. We are Branch 147 in the Royal Canadian Legion.
The Legion has stood and continues to stand for Canadian veterans. The Legion was there to educate and to assist our Veterans who served our nation in WW1, WW2, Korea and on U.N. Peacekeeping and NATO missions . Through our annual Poppy Campaign we provide financial support to those Veterans in need. And we take a lead role to honour them on many occasions throughout the year – especially around Remembrance Day (November 11).
Through the Catch the Ace Lottery we will continue to support many Barrie and Simcoe County charitable organizations. We will also contribute the the Barrie Legion to assist with the unforeseen expenses with an aging building.
By partnering with the Rotary Club of Barrie, we will learn from their experience in managing successful projects. The Barrie Rotary Club has a proven track record in running large community and fundraising events. We can also assist them. Together, we are stronger!
